Hollywood is predominantly remembered as the movie machine churning big budget blockbusters seasonally. Admittedly, these fuel the needs of most people (myself included) seeking entertainment. Be it large explosions, intense car chases, melodramatic pieces, spoon-digging prison escapees, etc.; whichever the genre, there’s bound to be at least one big name production to fill the gaps. Don’t get me wrong; Hollywood has also known its share of flops, but this post is not about either variety.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays~!!!
‘Tis the season of celebrations yet again. From the bottom of my heart, I wish everyone a wonderful holiday season ahead.
Black, white or gray?
Every once in a while, we’re bound to hear people quoting fate for just about anything. Wealth status, relationship, bad luck, good luck, promotions, etc. Just as there are people who fall back on fate, there are equally people who don’t believe in it.
I’ll be honest; I’m the latter.

Status quo
Everybody seems to be on Facebook today. Frankly speaking, though, I am a tech-guy who doesn’t fancy Facebook or any social websites. Sure, it’s nice to have a one-stop place to check-up on my friends’ updates, but I’m personally not inclined to share so much online.
I’m pondering this over a recent comment an acquaintance made. We were on a trip together and everyone was taking photos. At one point, the said acquaintance commented that I should post up the photos to Facebook. I simply acknowledged that I won’t be doing so. Surprisingly, I got a snide remark (in a language not of my own, in fact!) that I was tarik-ing harga! WTF!? (Excuse the language)
Sure, many people leverage the album functionality in Facebook. However, does it warrant a NEED to use it just because most people use it? Everyone have their own personal preferences and this is no different. It is not so much about hiding something (seriously… trip photos… what’s there to hide) as opposed to just keeping things out of the public eye for the simple sake of privacy. If it suits one’s fancy, one can just go to any forum and post their entire life album for all I care. But would you?
I guess the simple truth is, just because one can do something it doesn’t mean one should. So don’t rub your snide remarks on me when you can’t even understand that. Even if you do rub ‘em in, at least have the guts to do it in-my-face in a language I can understand so that I can at least respect you for sharing your opinion.

My worst enemy…
…is none other than pessimism. It builds a seemingly impenetrable wall that doesn’t budge no matter what you try. I always thought I can punch right through and override it, but I’ve failed before… and I seem to be failing again.
The worst part is, this time it’s biting me back… I can’t understand how one person can possess so much of it. What can anyone do when someone just sees a ‘Game over’ around every corner? It’s an insidious, contagious and demoralizing trait…
… and it eats on you when you can’t break through.
Words can be sharper than a blade… and they don’t need to be actual brash and abrasive words. An average word in the wrong context *is* capable of shaking your entire resolve.
Do humans come with a ‘reset’ button? I wish they did…

Law of attraction…
I may have been occasionally sceptical about it, but not today. I will remember today as the day I believed it actually exists.

Random bites
Personality tests have always sparked some intrigue within me since forever. My curiosity is primarily piqued in observing how it has changed over the course of my lifetime. True enough, subtle changes do (and have) occurred over the years. The most observable and astonishing fact I discovered is my transition between the two poles of extravert vs introvert. I remember back in school I used to be more of an extravert; and the shift to being an introvert has been gradual and constant. During a team building training last week, I discovered that at present I’m bordering at fine balance of both. Good or bad? Neither is bad, that’s for sure, but is the personality shift itself detrimental in any way?
On another note, I’ve been digging all the news about the new Microsoft Windows Phone 7 launch. Looks mighty sweet I must say, but the 1st gen hardware may not showcase the potential of the platform. I’ve been itching for a phone replacement; finally hit a stage where my humble Sony Ericsson just doesn’t cut it with regards to schedule management… but I’ve always hated the previous gen Windows Mobiles, can’t buy into the hype of the Apples, and sure as hell don’t intend to get mixed up in the whole fragmentation of Androids (which reminds me too much of WinMo). I suppose I’ll need to wait it out a little longer before I decide on anything.
Any fans of The Script? I got a bite of their latest album “Science and Faith”. Loving it so far… in more ways than just enjoying the music :)

Invasion of spam
I’m noticing that spam bots have started assaulting my cbox panel. Been trying to get the captcha feature working, but it doesn’t seem to function even though I’ve enabled it. Weird…
On another note, I wonder what motivates people to actually spam. I mean, do people *actually* click on them? I know I don’t… but considering it’s prolific, I can only assume that there are an insanely large number of idiots out there who actually click them…

Testing testing 1-2-3
Tinkering about with Microsoft’s recently released Windows™ Live Essentials 2011, I bumped into this micro-gem of a free tool called Windows Live Writer.
True, it’s not the only blog editor around but I was never one to go looking for a tool. Since it came bundled, why not try it out… right? And so, here’s my first post using a desktop tool.
I must say… the convenience and speed… I like =D

Playing ball...
There is something I must do... something I should have done a long time ago. Time, as long as it has taken, finally decides to play catch-up with me and dropped a massive bomb of a 'duh!!' on me a bit later than I'd have liked... but better late than never, right? I can only hope...
So how and when should I do what I should be doing? That's a question best left answered in the privacy of my own thoughts.

It was the worst weekend of my life...

Maaf zahir & batin
It's the festivities yet again, and a long weekend for most of Malaysia. From a celebration perspective, it will probably be a quiet, uneventful Hari Raya again this year for me. From an activity perspective, however, it's going be a busy weekend.
The final quarter of the year is typically the most busy period filled with plenty of wedding ceremonies; this weekend alone I'll need to attend two weddings, night by night. Don't get me started about the week after that... I can just imagine my bank account shrinking from all the 'ang pows' that need to be given out to the happy couples.

It came and went...
Today has been rather eventful, in a tiring way, with a sprinkle of fun and happiness in just the right amounts.

Everything
Days have just been getting more routine and slow lately... kinda missing the more lively days of yore but I suppose things (and pace) changes with times.
Lifehouse - Everything: It's the song that's currently playing on my Winamp. I've always loved the song, and the new studio release version just upped the ante. Something about the song has always struck a deep chord in me...
...why? The answer to that has always eluded me.

Day of Reminiscence
Alas, the real world can be sickening at times... all we can do is take it for what it is. The legend himself is an icon worth respecting regardless of what may have transpired in his later years... regardless if it was true or otherwise... and his skin disease that many people assumed was a whitening surgery he underwent (shame on them!).
May he rest in peace.
Today would also have been a day to celebrate the true icon of my life... my late father's birthday.

Itchy hands...
I actually had a clear idea of what I wanted to blog tonight... but Blogger itself side-tracked me to the point where I'm now too sleepy to continue an actual post :P Well, I guess a theme update will suffice for tonight.
