Do you see an emerging pattern?

Wow... another Sunday, another post. I admit I'm not consistent at posting ...er... posts. But the recent Sunday-spree updates seems promising. However, it could just be an indicator that my Sunday's recently have been rather uneventful... which is not necessarily a bad thing, considering...

The past week has been a primordial roller-coaster ride. So many things seemed to happen at the same time, and I felt like I was rushing past them with no real sense of control... still kinda sorting out all that mess, but something tells me that maybe things will always be (and have been), quite simply, a mess! If that's the case, then the future just *might* be easier to handle. Nothing to sort out! Woohoo.... *I wish*.

Been feeling rather exhausted lately... even resting hasn't been helping much. The only thing that does seem to help is when I do something by impulse. Ya know... like checking out new eateries, new weekend activities, new vacation ideas, random-out-of-the-blue conversation topics, etc. I think the best moments over the past month or so have been the spontaneous. I like the feeling... the only thing that bothers me is that I don't quite know why its happening. On the bright side, at least I know how to overcome it... one random endeavour for each moment of demotivation.

Which got me thinking... I seriously find it hard to scourge for information regarding interesting things to do. I mean, the usual movies, theaters and orchestras are stuff that's relatively easy to find info about... and so are food spots. A close friend in the States was talking 'bout Halloween parties; another was talking bout one-day classes on random topics. Problem is... where do I get info on such events?

Anyone care to drop some details? I would really *really* appreciate some assistance here :) Thanks in advance for the tips... if any.

Another week, another post

Ola~

My previous post was exactly 1 week ago. Considering that 71.42% of that time (yes, I used a calculator) were workdays, there can't really be that much to talk about... especially when you have a social life as pathetic as mine. So let's see... what did happen over the week?

Well, there's food... haha, there's *always* food =Þ However, a few friends and I have started a shared blog dedicated to food and fun outings. I'm presently posting my food reviews there. If you're interested, do check it out at LoF Malaysia!

Ok, now that advertising is out of the picture (hehe), moving on...

Had another spurt of taking random leaves again. I came back on Monday, to be informed that an additional leave was added due to the pubilc holiday on the Saturday before. I was like.. "what!? you mean my leave last friday was technically a 'bonus'?" Can't seem to drop the numbers down... I can't believe I'm complaining I have too many leaves. (Trust me... it's bad when you have leaves you can't seem to spend, sigh)

So... I decided that my Hari Raya weekend now will not be a 3-day weekend, but 4! Haven't figured out what to do for the next 2 days, but I guess that is a good thing on its own. Oh... before I forget...

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri~!!

Next was... Friday night. Had a b'day party to attend, unfortunately, I got stuck at work and had to ffk, *sob*. Counter-activity; colleagues proposed a hangout for supper in Puchong at 11pm. The only problem was... I was done with my stuff at 9pm. That's 2 long hours to spend doing nothing in the office!? Oh wait... there's the Nintendo Wii.... *grin*

2 hours later, we were at Station 1, Bandar Puteri Puchong. It's a common cafe, sprouting in many locations around Klang Valley. Food, nothing great, but it does serve as a good spot to just chillout. Highlight of the night: Jenga! Well, not the real jenga blocks, but makeshift ones that are available in the shop. Of course, we added a twist to the game that I'd highly recommend to ppl. Get a deck of cards and sort out only Aces to Fours. Shuffle these and draw one before your turn. That's how many blocks you gotta shift in 1 round. This gets interesting later on... imagine drawing a 4 when there's only 2 legal moves left :P Talk about knowing the outcome beforehand, haha.

We spent a nice 2 hour long session there... tiring, but fun. Would love to do it again sometime, and I'm sure it will happen... no doubt about it :) It was time to head home then, and usher the long weekend ahead.

Memoirs re-lived...

October; the first week of this month has just passed, and rather eventfully I shall add. The draught that has been my vacation-less life since April has finally been ended... somewhat. Interestingly enough, it involved a rekindling of a place and moment that was experienced just around the same time last year...

What am I talking about? I called it:

Project Ulu Yam 2007!

Yes, I went on another trip to Ulu Yam this year. Partially the same crowd, the exact same spot, roughly the same food, but with differences in the overall experience nevertheless... and that's in a good way ;) I shall reserve the details for a future post because I have yet to grab the photo's that deserve to go along with the trip information, but I will mark down the stuff that resulted with this whole trip.

As can be witnessed from my previous post, I was bored. I even wrote that post with minimal constructed sentences. Yup, I was indeed bored. I also got into thinking... I have quite a pile of annual leaves waiting to be used. I'm also a bit burnt out from work. A + B = Use the leaves! So, the eureka moment was when I decided to make this week a 4-day work week... perhaps a few weeks in a row, if I could.

Then, there were this random thought whilst I was chatting with my Klang buddy...

Me: Lets take the friday OFF!
Him: ...and do what?
Me: Go... er... Ulu Yam! For picnic and play water.
Him: RIGHT...
Him: You plan it well enough, I might think about it...

So, there I was, inspired to go on a trip on a spur of the moment and simultaneously facing a noticeable amount of scepticism on pulling it off successfully.

Monday - First thing I did (literally) after arriving at work was to apply for leave. Whatever it is that I end up doing on Friday, it sure won't involve me being anywhere near office premises =Þ I was gonna get my day off whether or not anyone liked it, hehe. Right after that came the next item in the to-do list...

Sending out invitations!

Let's Go!
By lunch, I had enlisted 4 friends who were eager on the trip idea. My favourite phrase for the day (or week!?) was 'Let's Go!'. It caught on pretty well. By the end of the day, I had 6 people on the confirmed list and 1 pending. (FYI, total ppl who actually went were 9, myself included). The pending person was none other than the friend who was sceptical to begin with (yes, I know you're reading this eventually =Þ). Thankfully, he managed to tag along... I would have had a field day rubbing it in had he not made it... oh, cruel me, hehe.

Over the next few days, planning was underway. Food, equipment, travel itinerary, etc. Everything went smooth from the planning side. By Thursday, headcount was at 9... still within the limits of my intended maximum number of 10 ppl. Never intended it to be huge... a small group of close, fun friends was all that I wanted.

And then, Friday came...

It is Sunday now, and been trying to recuperate from the fatigue of that day. By no means is that a bad thing... it just goes to show how much fun I had. True, a relaxing day would've been great, but a truly fun-filled activity day is in no ways a lesser experience... its just a different experience :)

Would I do it again? You bet~ Ulu Yam 2008 perhaps :P

Now, I just need to plan what to do in the weeks ahead. I'm thinking... Singapore?
Anyone game to join me?
