I suppose everyone looks forward to the weekends and, just as equally, everyone will complain about how fast it passes; I'm no different. Been rather busy lately at work and was pleasantly looking forward to this weekend more than past recent weekends... sadly, Monday will come knocking within the hour.
Today has been rather eventful, in a tiring way, with a sprinkle of fun and happiness in just the right amounts.
One of my cousin sis was having her 'booking' ceremony, haha. It's basically the Indian version of a proposal minus the flair of dropping to your knees and doing it in a special and personal style. It's all very ceremonial and borderline formal, but I suppose customs do still have their place regardless of the times. Anyhow, it was also an opportunity to mingle with some close relatives; it's been a while, thus a rather timely break of routine. It doesn't come without a price though; we all had to do our parts in helping about... setting up the tables, serving the guests, cleanup, etc. Interestingly, no one really had to ask anyone to do the tasks... everyone just does it! Family ties!! =)
It was a hot and tiring day in the end, and very little time to rest. What's the best medicine for fatigue besides sleep? A good dose of GREAT news, of course! Today is also the birthday of a close friend of mine... I remember sending her a birthday wish first thing I woke up this morning. She replied a thank you note at 11:30am... and another note at 3:17pm announcing her successful delivery of a healthy baby boy!!! Yahoo~~~!!
Amazing thing was, no one actually expected the delivery to be exactly on her birthday... you could say he was 1 week ahead of schedule. What more, it also meant that her thank you note was probably from the labour room =O No wonder her msg seemed... somewhat out of the norm, haha. She's not really one at a loss for words, but it all made sense now =D
To my friend... congratulations!!! You officially got the ultimate birthday present life has to offer ;)
