Significant insignificance

Just a random thought... earlier whilst waiting for the traffic lights, I was looking around without any particular target in mind. However, what somehow captured my attention was this: a tree. Or should I say a leaf from the mentioned tree.

I never gave thought to it before, but when I witnessed this leaf fall off from the branches and fall gracefully to the ground, it had a calming impression... calming yet sad. A leaf; the primary power house that keeps the tree fed; part of a community of leaves that always maintain a certain arrangement nature dictates and mathematicians marvel upon; and here it is, signalling the last moments of its service to the tree.

Then the lights turned green... I got honked :P

  1. I had a dream today about caligraphy. In fact, it was about a guy who lost contact with society (we will skip all the details here) and recently met someone from the outside, and the both of them were discussing caligraphy of all things. They were complimenting each others' styles and how much things have changed.

Now, you must be wondering what does this have anything whatsoever to do with your post. Well, I think we are all caught up in our own world, worrying about finances and mortgages, girlfriends and pool outings, that we forget about the simplicities in life, in nature.

Taking a breather like what you did, does help put things in perspective. That it isn't all about rush hour traffic, or upcoiming bills to pay. Enjoy life for what it is, and not what it could be.

I just woke up, so forgive me if this doens't make any sense whatsoever. :)
