Delayed telecast

Hehe, gomen ne~ Took longer than I'd have liked to post an update. Not feeling too well right now. Having a mild sore throat with a cough and flu combo thrown in. Good to know the weekend is here. Shall take a good rest... just what the doctor ordered.

Mainly wanted to post up photos of a makan-makan outing I had on Tuesday last week (yup, about 10 days ago =Þ ). I left my data-cable in the office, so I couldn't download the photos off my phone until today. Better late than never, right?

Destination: Las Carretas Restaurant & Bar (USJ10 aka Taipan USJ)
Type: Mexican food *slurp*

Ok, so we went to this Mexican restaurant to celebrate my fellow teammates birthday. It was her belated birthday, but any excuse for a makan-makan is a good excuse :P So first come the food... enjoy:

Freebies *grin* - Nachos and salsa dip

Crispy and cheesy~ Chimichanga!

I call it the 'soft' cousin of the above... Burritos!

Self-served value-for-money... Chicken Fajitas!

There was another dish that night... the Lamb Shank. Unfortunately, the photo turned out too dark to identify *what* you're looking at, haha. Generally, the food is good. I found the serving for my dish rather small, but I'd say it depends on the dish itself. Judging by the lamb and the fajitas, I'd say heavy eaters should go for the larger stuff OR try a variety of the small stuff.

The service was fast and definitely friendly. Cheerful bunch they are... even tried to swindle my money for taking shots of the food, but all for the sake of entertaining :) Definite plus plus from me. As for environment, the place has this 'wooden' sense to it, and the lighting is just right... not too dark, nor too bright to make you squint.

The place has 2 floors. The ground floor is brighter and the bar is more accessible. Good for medium to large groups due to the table arrangment. The upper floor promises a more private hangout area for small groups, or so it seems. I didn't really explore the rear section, and judging from what the waiter said.. the 'crowd' hasn't come in yet. I'd say the top floor may be the more 'happening' spot for the late crawlers. Shall make it a point to check it out again in the future to confirm this.

Anyway, to cut a long story short... I loved the food. And since I got to try a bit of everyone's food, I must say each one is enjoyable in its own right. Can't wait to go there again and check out the rest of the menu. So please, if you're out and about in Taipan and you're looking for something different to try, do check out Las Carretas. You can even Google for it. Apparently, I ain't the first person to blog about it, hehe. Enjoy ;)
